Nilfisk-Advance acquires promising innovative US business

Nilfisk-Advance acquires ownership of Cyclone Environmental Technologies Inc. as of May 14th, 2008. Via the acquisition Nilfisk-Advance gains entry into the outdoor hard surface cleaning market.

Nilfisk-Advance announced today that is has acquired all the assets of Cyclone Environmental Technologies, Inc. and its affiliated patents. Based in Tempe, Arizona, Cyclone is an industrial cleaning technology and manufacturing firm specializing in large outdoor hard surface cleaning equipment. The acquisition will form a new company within Nilfisk-Advance called "Nilfisk-Advance Technologies, Inc." The acquisition is effective May 14, 2008.

Leadership in innovation
"Bringing Cyclone into the Nilfisk-Advance family is an exciting development for both companies," said Joergen Jensen, President and CEO of Nilfisk-Advance. "Cyclone is an innovation leader in bringing new cleaning technologies to market that leverage waste water recovery and water recycling. We will continue Cyclone's leadership in this area by further developing these important technologies and expanding the market reach of these innovative products."

Cyclone's cleaning technologies and products are used by airports, amusement parks, and municipal facilities with large outdoor surfaces. Cyclone's water recovery and recycling technologies are progressive environmental features because they allow the end-user to save and reuse tremendous amounts of water. In addition, Cyclone's technologies significantly limit the amount of pollutants and debris in water run off, thereby allowing for safer sanitary sewer disposal.

Future operations
Following the acquisition, Cyclone will continue to operate at its Tempe, Arizona facility where it will retain its production and sales operations. Cyclone founder Richard Rohrbacher and President Ellen Rohrbacher will continue to be involved in the company.

Nilfisk-Advance's North American operations are headquartered in Plymouth, MN. It manufactures and distributes professional floor cleaning equipment under the brand names Advance, American Lincoln, Clarke, Kent, Euroclean, Clarke American Sanders, Nilfisk-CFM, HydraMaster, Nilfisk-ALTO, US Products, Viper, and Nilfisk. Recent strengthening's of the North American market include Chinese manufacturer Viper Inc. in August 2007 and Washington-based HydraMaster in March 2008.

The acquisition of Cyclone Environmental Technologies is a part of Nilfisk-Advance's strategy to grow in both existing and new markets on a global level.
